EN 14 175 and ASHRAE 110-1995 standards

Containment according to the EN 14 175 standard
The EN 14 175 European Standard assesses the aeraulic performances of the ducted fume hoods linked to their air face velocity, their containment and their containment robustness. Each performance criterion is tested according to a protocol described in the standard and enables to compare the results with the requirements established by the EU member states.

Containment according to the ASHRAE 110-1995 standard
The ASHRAE 110-1995 standard specifies a quantitative test procedure for evaluation containment of a laboratory fume hood. A tracer gas is released at prescribed rates and positions in the hood and monitored in the breathing zone of a mannequin at the face of the hood. Based on the release rate of the tracer gas and average exposure to the mannequin, a performance rating is achieved.
